Spitfire Tacos & Tequila Elevates Cinco de Mayo Celebrations with Rooftop Grand Opening Weekend Extravaganza

Eagle’s Unique Mexican Dining Destination Brings the Fiesta with All-Weekend-Long Happy Hour, Live Performances, Tequila and Taco Tastings, Free Tacos For a Year Giveaway, Games, and More. EAGLE, Id., May 1, 2024-- Spitfire Tacos & Tequila, the ultimate destination for vibrant Mexican dining in Idaho, known for authentically made inauthentic tacos, is pleased to announce its Spitfire De Mayo weekend extravaganza from Friday, May 3rd to Sunday, May 5th between 12 and 10 p.m. MDT.

Timed in sync with Spitfire’s rooftop grand opening, day-to-night celebrations welcome guests of all ages and are free to attend. The celebration doesn't stop with just tacos. Highlights include happy hour all weekend to unveil Spitfire’s new happy hour offering, live music including DJs, fun-filled games, tequila tastings, a dedicated beer trailer, beverage collaborations, giveaways and more.

For those craving a bit of competition, the event will also feature a Pepper Eating Contest on Saturday, May 4th from 3 to 4 p.m. MDT. Brave contestants will compete to see who can handle the heat and claim the title of Pepper Eating Champion, with the winner receiving free tacos for a year! Cap off the weekend festivities with the melodious tunes of a live mariachi band on Sunday, May 5th.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the day in 1862 when the Mexican army beat back French troops marching towards Mexico City, but it has evolved into an annual celebration of Mexican culture in the U.S. — and it is an especially festive occasion for Spitfire Tacos & Tequila to celebrate in Idaho, where the Hispanic population has doubled in the last 20 years.

To keep the fiesta going, Spitfire’s new happy hour will become a permanent fixture from Monday through Thursday, starting Monday, May 6th from 3-5 p.m. MDT.
